The building of the Church of S. Antonio Abate in Recoaro Terme is rightly considered one of the most significant examples of religious architecture in Italy. The church, designed by the architect Giuseppe Vaccaro, was consecrated in 1963 and contains interesting stained glass windows, frescoes and sculptures.
It contains the mosaic of the Crucifixion by Guido Cadorin, which surmounts the altar; on its left the Coronation of Mary by the artist Marcello Mascherini. The wooden statues of the Annunciation and the Crucifixion were carved by Bruno Vedovato and a significant Via Crucis in terracotta is by Luciano Minguzzi. Finally, the large stained glass window near the pulpit, the fresco next to the presbytery and the three paintings on the lateral nave are attributed to Giorgio Scalco.
